Debunking the Biggest Myth About Outsourcing
For the longest time, outsourcing has sounded like a rich person’s thing.
You know the type.
“Ah ah, you send somebody to wash clothes?”
“You don’t even clean your own house?”
“You sent someone to run errands for you?”
Immediately, the conclusion is simple:
this person has money.
Because in our heads as Nigerians, outsourcing is for people who have “arrived”. People who don’t know the price of garri anymore. People who don’t check balances before making decisions.
And that is so wrong.

Outsourcing Doesn’t Mean “Big Money”
Outsourcing can be as simple as this:
- Giving your laundry to someone else
- Sending someone to buy groceries or pick up a package
- Asking someone to clean your space
- Having someone handle errands when your day is already packed
These are not “rich people activities”.
In reality, for as low as ₦5,000, you can already get someone to help with one or more of these tasks.
Outsourcing is for:
- The student juggling classes and deadlines
- The working professional with packed weekdays
- The parent who just needs breathing room
- The person who’s stretched thin and needs support
- People with disabilities who need support with everyday tasks
Outsourcing is not a finish-line reward.
It’s a tool, and tools are meant to be used by anyone who needs them.
